State Police: Man stole $13,000 from elderly victim

COLONIE, N.Y. – A Loudonville man is accused of stealing from an 82-year-old.

State Police in Latham say they conducted a recent theft investigation in the Town of Colonie involving an elderly victim.

State Police say they were alerted to the thefts by the victim after she noticed her credit card was missing and then discovered there were numerous fraudulent transactions on her card.

The victim was familiar with the suspect, Jeffrey Davis, 32, of Loudonville. Davis had allegedly taken advantage of the victim and used her card to make personal transactions totaling over $13,000 during a one month period of time.

Davis was processed at the State Police barracks in Latham charged with identity threft in the first degree and grand larceny in the third degree, both felonies. Davis was arraigned in the City of Albany Police Court.
