POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The University at Albany women’s basketball team will play Marist College Wednesday night.
The Red Foxes are nine-time defending MAAC champions. Although they’ve lost some key players, they are still a dangerous team, especially from three.
But that’s not the biggest area of concern for UAlbany head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson.
“I think what’s going to bother us the most is their defense, and it’s just very packed in and we’re not used to that,” she said. “We’re used to people either pressing us and pressuring us all over the place and not letteing our guards make good passes to Shereesha, or we’re more comfortable just throwing the ball in the paint, so it’s going to be hard for our guards. They are going to have to be able to drive and kick and make one more pass to get some open shots.”
The game is at 7 p.m. at Marist.
