ALBANY, N.Y. – Many groups in the Capital Region are calling on Governor Cuomo to include the “Dream Act” in his budget.
Hundreds of students and faculty want Cuomo to include his executive budget changes to the state’s Tuition Assistance Program.
Currently, SUNY students who are undocumented immigrants pay in state rates, however, they are ineligible for tuition assistance. If the changes are made, more than 8,000 public college students would be eligible for the financial help.
“TAP” is now approaching its 40th anniversary.
The press conference is happening Wednesday at 1 p.m.
