Union hockey players recognized for performance

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – A couple Union College hockey players were recognized on Tuesday for their big performances over the weekend.

Linemates Daniel Ciampini and Ryan Scarfo were named the ECAC Player and Rookie of the Week respectively.

Ciampini notched four points over the road trip, including both game winning goals over Brown and Yale. Freshman forward Scarfo recorded and assist in each game.

“Oh, it’s definitely an honor,” Scarfo said. “Anytime you get recognized for your hard work over the weekend, you definitely appreciate it. That doesn’t go without saying my teammates played really well. They definitely helped me out.”

“We just, we clicked, and I think we just put an honest 120 minutes,” Ciampini said. “I felt, anyways, we didn’t cheat the game and good things happen, and you get rewarded when you play a full 200 feet.”
