Thanksgiving holiday gas prices at five year low

ALBANY N.Y. -Good news for those traveling by car this Thanksgiving, gas prices are at a five-year low.

According to AAA, the average retail price for gas is $2.85 per gallon which is 43 cents cheaper than Thanksgiving Day last year.

This means if a family from Albany travels to the state of Delaware for the holiday, which is about 300 miles, they will be saving almost $7 on gas.

Unfortunately this also means more people will be out on the roadways.

AAA says it’s estimating over 46 million travelers to go 50 miles or more from home and Ninety percent of those traveling will be driving.
