Queensbury man arrested in connection to accident that left man paralyzed

KINGSBURY, N.Y. – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man they say caused an accident that left another motorist paralyzed.

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on Friday November 21, 2014, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested John F. Hammond II, 25, of Queensbury. He was arrested on a Washington County Court Indictment warrant and charged with assault and reckless driving.

Police say that on May 20, 2013, Hammond was involved in a motor vehicle crash with another vehicle on Tracy Road in the Town of Kingsbury. The operator of the other vehicle suffered serious physical injuries in the crash, resulting in the operator being paralyzed.

Hammond is accused of operating his vehicle in a reckless manner causing the crash and the other operator to sustain those serious injuries.

He was arraigned in Washington County Court and released on his own recognizance to return at a later date to answer the charges.
