Man sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting a minor

ALBANY, N.Y. – A man has been sentenced to State Prison after he was found guilty on sexual assault charges.

Keimar Tarver, 33, was sentenced to 13 years in State Prison, to be followed by 15 years of Post-Release Supervision on Friday morning for a May 2013 sexual assault. This sentence will run consecutively to a five year State Prison term that Tarver is currently serving for a May 2014 drug sale conviction.

On October 10, 2014, Tarver was found guilty after a jury trial of one count of rape in the second degree, a felony, one count of criminal sexual act in the second degree, a felony, and one count of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

On May 5, 2013, Tarver sexually assaulted a minor under the age of 17 that was known to him while at a residence on Orange Street. 

Tarver will also have to register as a Sex Offender.
