COLONIE, N.Y. — The ground stops at Chicago-O’Hare and Chicago-Midway has resulted in the cancellations of several flights at Albany International Airport.
Three Albany United Airlines Departing flights to Chicago-O’Hare were cancelled, affecting approximately 310 passengers.
A Southwest Airlines early morning departing flight to Chicago-Midway was diverted to Detroit when the ground stop went into effect. That aircraft returned to Albany shortly after 11:00 a.m. Friday.
Southwest has also cancelled an afternoon flight to Chicago-Midway. Over 200 Southwest passengers have been impacted.
At 11:30 a.m., a total of two arrivals from Chicago-O’Hare and one arrival from Chicago-Midway have been cancelled.
