Albany man accused of July robbery

ALBANY, N.Y. – A 22-year-old has been arrested for his alleged role in a robbery that happened over the summer.

According to Albany Police, Montasir Osman, 22, was arrested following an investigation into the Quail Street robbery.


On July 12, around 12:20 a.m., Osman and four other males approached a male victim walking on Quail Street, near State Street, and demanded the victim’s wallet, according to police.


Albany Police say Osman and the other suspects then punched the victim several times about the face and head before stealing the victim’s wallet and fleeing the scene.

The victim, a 20-year-old male, sustained injuries to his face and head during the incident.

Osman was charged with two counts of robbery in the second degree. He was then arraigned and sent to Albany County Jail.
