ALBANY N.Y. – Fans and players are anxiously awaiting the kick off high school football, and the game between North Colonie and the Christian Brothers Academy.

Friday night’s game is a big deal for both schools, last year the two teams went head to head in the Section II Super Bowl.

Last year’s Section II super bowl game was very exciting, the game came down to the last play where CBA came out on top.

The CBA football players have been practicing for the past three weeks. According to the Christian Brothers Academy Athletic Director Blaine Drescher the team has a strong foundation. Drescher hopes this year’s season will be as successful as the last.

“It’s different players now but at the same time both fan bases and both groups of players remember that game and we are trying to keep working hard as a school and hopefully we can carry some of that success for the upcoming season,” said Drescher.

Academy of Holy Names cheerleaders and CBA’s pep band will also be preforming at tonight’s big game.

The director of music at CBA says she is looking forward to having her students get out there at the game and let them have fun.

“Everyone gets really excited. There is an energy anyway at the beginning of the school year and sort of the game atmosphere. The sense of brotherhood when everyone is back together. It’s really exciting,” said music director Sarah Waite.

The game will kick off at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Christian Brothers Academy.
