Burglary in Halfmoon leads to arrests

LATHAM, N.Y. –Police say two men have been arrested after allegedly burglarizing a home in Halfmoon.

The burglary was reported by the homeowners on Thursday, after they returned from running local errands.

Local police say they then spotted a suspicious vehicle parked in the vicinity. After questioning the subjects in the vehicle, it was determined that they had committed the burglary.

Police say they arrested 28-year-old William Villano of Stoney Creek who was charged with Burglary and 63-year-old Michael Mooney of Albany who was charged with Criminal possession of a controlled substance and Criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument.

Vilano was arraigned in Halfmoon Town Court and sent to the Saratoga County Jail.

Mooney was issued an Appearance Ticket to be returned to Halfmoon Town Court.
