HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. – The Hoosick Falls football team is getting ready for the upcoming season.
The five-time defending Class C champions will open their season where most teams hope to end theirs – the Carrier Dome.
The Panthers will travel to the sigh of the state finals to play Owego in Week One.
In the last few seasons, Hoosick Falls has rarely been challenged in conference play, but Coach Ron Jones said the early test against a very good Class B opponent could help them get back to the dome at the end of the season.
“There’s something about being in there the first time that is really awe inspiring, so boy it’d be great to be back there so we are not awe struck by it,” he said.
“It’s going to see where we need to build on, what we need to get better at, but I mean, we are going to go in and try to win that game,” senior wide receiver Austin Pitt said. “They are going to be tough, but we are going to do what we can.”
That game kicks off at 1 p.m. on September 7.
