More details expected to be released in Amish kidnapping case

ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. –  Authorities continue to release information in regards to the kidnapping of two Amish girls as their investigation is ongoing.

Authorities said that the girls were sexually assaulted before they were returned by their abductors. Police say they’re collecting computer hard drives and other evidence from Stephen Howells Jr. and Nicole Vaisey’s home.
The couple was arrested and charged on Friday, with kidnapping, with the intent to physically or sexually abuse the girls.
The St. Lawrence County District Attorney says she expects more charges, which could come on Monday.
The sisters were abducted on Wednesday from a farm stand in front of their family’s home. Police said the two were last seen waiting on a customer in a small, white four-door sedan in the Town of Oswegatchie.
New details came out over the weekend about Howells’ connection to a Samaritan Hospital in Troy.
