Missing Amish girls found alive

Officials confirm the missing Amish girls have been found.

New York State Senior Investigator Gary Kelly is the state’s Amber Alert coordinator. He said both girls were found alive.

The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office activated an Amber Alert Wednesday evening after they confirmed two Amish girls had been abducted from their family’s roadside stand. Police said the two were last seen waiting on a customer in a small, white four-door sedan in the Town of Oswegatchie.

Officials say the girls were dropped off in the town of Richville, near the Canadian border, which is about 36 miles from where they were abducted. The St. Lawrence County DA says the girls turned up unharmed Thursday evening at a home asking for help.

Details regarding the case, including where and when the girls were found, have not been released at this time.
