Charter schools see larger improvement under Common Core than the state

ALBANY, N.Y. – Results of proficiency tests taken by public school students in the spring were released on Thursday, including the charter schools results.

The numbers show charter schools in the state charging ahead in both math and English.

In math, charter schools improved more than 8-percent compared to 4.6-percent for the state. In English, charter schools went up 1.6-percent points from last year, compared to a tenth of a percent for the state.
