ALBANY, N.Y. – The Board of Regents has released the results of the spring 2014 Math and English tests for grades 3 through 8.
Students statewide slightly improved in their math scores. The percentage of student scoring jumped slightly from 31.2-percent to 35.8-percent across all grade levels.
The English test results did not see much improvement, as those scores rose from just 31.3-percent to 31.4-percent.
This is the second round of student test results under Common Core standards.
SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher released a statement on the results. She stated that students in the state are “trending in a positive direction” as Common Core continues to be implemented in schools.
