Local same-sex couple wins discrimination case

ALBANY, N.Y. – A same sex couple who were told they could not use a wedding venue in the area have won their discrimination case.

The New York State Division of Human Rights has ruled that Liberty Ridge Farm cannot discriminate against same-sex couples.

The two Albany women, Melisa Erwin and Jennie McCarthy, find a complaint on October 11 after the Liberty Ridge Farm said it would not host their wedding. The owners said they had objections to gay marriage based on their values and religious background.
