ALCOVE, N.Y. – A Freehold man was arrested for DWAI after a personal injury vehicle crash.
On March 2, the Coeymans Police Department said Fredrick Dollar Jr. failed to yield the right of way at the intersection of SR 143 and SR 32 in Alcove and was struck by a vehicle operated by a Hunter resident and his two young children.
Dollar and the other operator were taken to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries. The two children were in child restraint seats and taken to Albany Med with minor injuries.
Dollar was charged with Vehicular Assault in the Second Degree, DWAI, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Failure to Yield Right of Way at a Stop Sign. The 54-year-old was arraigned in the Town of Coeymans Justice Court and released on $10,000 cash or secured bond.
He is scheduled to reappear on August 21.
