Urban Raid 5K creates road closures

ALBANY, N.Y. — The Urban Raid 5K obstacle course is kicking off today at the Times Union Center.

Racers will pass multiple Albany landmarks including the Capitol and Lincoln Park. The 2014 raid series will also hold races in Portland, Maine and Boston. The series finale will take place in New York City.

Because of the Urban 5K, roads will be closed and parking restrictions will be enforced.

Partial closures and restrictions on State Street, Lincoln Park, and South Swan street began at 6a.m. this morning and will be in place until 6p.m.

State Street: between S. Swan Street and Eagle Street

Lincoln Park: all roadways between Eagle Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard

South Swan Street: between Morton Avenue and Park Avenue

South Swan Street: between Madison Avenue and State Street
