NY Attorney General urges FDA to ban flavored ecigs along with others

ALBANY, N.Y. — New York’s Attorney General has joined counterparts from two-dozen other states urging federal regulators to impose restrictions on electronic cigarettes with a ban on more than 7,000 flavors now available.

In a letter they plan to submit Friday to the FDA, they say limits on advertising and prohibiting flavors besides tobacco and menthol will help protect minors.

They say tobacco companies recognized years ago that flavored cigarettes were for teenagers and the FDA banned them.
