NORTHUMBERLAND, N.Y. — The NTSB has released its preliminary report on the deadly plane crash that claimed two lives in Northumberland last Saturday.
There are not many answers for what caused the crash that killed the pilot, 33-year-old Ciprian Ivascu of Newburgh and his passenger, 61-year-old Jon Stomski of Milton.
The report shows everything was working properly up until a banner-pick up at Heber Airpark.
The plane did not climb properly, striking a tree before crashing.
Investigators found the throttle in the full-forward position and are now taking a closer look at the engine.
