New York Army National Guard aviators return to Capital Region

ALBANY, N.Y. — A small group of New York Army National Guard aviators, returned last night to the Capital Region from Africa.

The New York National Guard says the soldiers provided transportation and cargo support for the United States Joint Task Force.

The unit consists of six warrant officer pilots and two administrative and operations sergeants based at the army aviation support facility in Latham at the Albany International Airport.

Their commander tells us they were in a part of Africa where Ebola wasn’t a concern.
