State Police arrest fugitive from Virginia in Richmondville

RICHMONDVILLE, N.Y. – State Police in Cobleskill have arrested a fugitive from Charlottesville, Virginia following a DWI traffic stop on I-88 in Richmondville.

State police in Cobleskill arrested Steven D. Silva following a traffic stop in the Town of Richmondville on August 3.

Troopers received the report of a fugitive from justice possibly traveling on I-88 westbound in Schoharie County and a patrol located the vehicle in question operating erratically in the westbound driving lane in the town of Richmondville.

The operator, Steven D. Silva, was found to be operating under the influence of drugs and was placed under arrest. During the investigation it was determined that Silva was a fugitive of justice out of the State of Virginia.

Silva was arraigned in Town of Richmondville Court and remanded to the Schoharie County Correctional facility on no bail and is set to return to the Richmondville Court on October 22, 2014.
