Registered nurse pleads guilty to felony charge hours before trial

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – A registered nurse arrested for hiding a mini camera inside an employee bathroom at Ellis Hospital back in November has accepted a plea deal.
Paul Bourdeau, 45, was charged with two counts of unlawful surveillance. Bourdeau pleaded guilty to the felony charge just two days before his trial was scheduled on Friday.
The mini camera Bourdeau put inside the bathroom was discovered by another employee. That employee turned the evidence over to hospital administration who then contacted police.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in October. He will face one to three years in State Prison and be required to register as a sex offender upon release.
