Ulster Co. man pleads not guilty in drone case

ULSTER, N.Y. — A man accused of spying on patients at an Ulster County Hospital with his drone has pleaded not guilty to unlawful surveillance charges.

State police say 49-year old David Beesmer took video with a drone outside the Mid-Hudson Medical Group Facility.

They say the camera was pointed at examination rooms where patients had a high expectation of privacy.

On his Facebook page, Beesmer says he made a huge error in judgment. He says his camera couldn’t see through the windows anyway.

Beesmer is due back in court on August 19.
