Father accused of driving drunk, speeding with child in car

MIDDLE GROVE, N.Y. – State Police in Fulton County have arrested a man for allegedly driving drunk with a child in his car.

According to authorities, a Trooper spotted a vehicle travelling at 70 mph in a 55 mph on State Route 30 on Wednesday. The Trooper also reported taht the driver crossed over the center line several times.


During a traffic stop, the Trooper identified the man as Joseph Moffre, 44. Moffre was administered standardized field sobriety tests which he allegedly failed. He was also found in possession of marijuana. 

Moffre was placed under arrest and transported to the Mayfield Barracks where he was found to have a BAC of .11-percent. Moffre allegedly had his child in the vehicle and was charged with DWI under Leandra’s Law, which is a felony. He is also charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
