Motorcyclists bring awareness to homeless vets in Capital Region

ALBANY, N.Y. – A motorcycle event was held in the Capital Region for “Homeless Veterans Awareness Day”.

The seventh annual event began in Schenectady at noon on Saturday. Those participating in the event rode their motorcycles to Albany’s Veterans House to raise awareness of homeless veterans in the area and around the country.
Riders parades down Route 5 with a police escort during the event to raise donations for the Albany Housing Coalition’s Veterans Housing and Services program.
Congressman Paul Tonko welcomed the rides at the Veterans House located on First Street.
This event was sponsored by the Veterans Motorcycle Club NY Nomads and the Walmart Distribution Center 6041.
