BETHLEHEM, N.Y. – A special playground dedication was held at the Bethlehem YMCA Wednesday.
YMCA leaders from the Capital Region joined local officials and community members for a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the new playground.
The playground is designed for children with different needs, including physical, developmental and emotional, so they can play with their peers and siblings. It was all in honor of Myles McAdoo who lost his battle with cancer two years ago.
“To be able to put something in the community for all children that are able bodied and disable bodied,” Myles’ mother Laurel McAdoo said. “It’s everything that Myles represented.”
Funding for the playground was made possible from the Myles of Smyles Foundation as well as donations from other organizations and individuals.
