ALBANY, N.Y. – Tens of thousands of people came out to the Empire State Plaza Friday to watch the Fourth of July Fireworks show.
Some people arrived at the plaza early in the morning Friday to secure their spot for the annual show. But there was more than just fireworks for revelers to enjoy.
Mario Pantelieis knows better than most. He’s worked a gyro food stand at the plaza for the past ten July Fourth events.
“You’re working on Independence Day, but it’s fun because you’re barbecuing for somebody else. It’s fun.”
And it wasn’t just food people were after. Attendees got to enjoy a new, free miniature golf course and silent disco. Pantelieis said the fireworks at the plaza is worth the trip.
“Just staying and watch it and look at the sky, and you’re amazed,” he said.
