ALBANY, N.Y. – The Troy basketball team is improving their skills at a local basketball camp.
It was just four months ago that Scotia derailed Troy’s shot at consecutive sectional titles in high school basketball. The Tartans grounded the Flying Horses 77-75 in double overtime on their way to a state and federation title.
That was a heartbreaking loss the Troy players haven’t forgotten even during their summer ball at the Talor Battle basketball camp.
The Flying Horses are using the camp as a way to improve their skills individually and as a team, so when they get another shot at the title, they won’t come up short again.
“We had a young team last year, so we all came back here to this camp playing together,” Troy junior guard Dvaire Holt said. “We’re just trying to stick together through the whole summer, so we can get back. We’re trying to get closer, so next year we can be ready.”
