ALBANY, N.Y. – The Shenendehowa High School girls’ basketball team took part in the Talor Battle basketball camp.
The Shen girls pulled off an upset over defending class Double A champion Albany in the championship game in early March. Getting to that point started in the off season by working on their skills in summer ball.
This year, many of the Lady Plainsmen were in attendance at the Talor Battle camp. They said the camp was making a difference for them.
“All the coaches really push us to work as hard as we can,” sophomore forward Sydney Brown said. “We’re playing against most of the top girls in the area, and they just keep pushing foot work, dribbling and working really hard.”
“Motivation is definitely winning it twice in a row,” junior forwad Carly Boland said. “We want to do this as much as we can. We want to win as much as we can especially a sectional title. That’d be great for our school and our team.”
The three-day camp ended Thursday afternoon.
