SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — Twenty local men and women officially became Americans Friday at a special naturalization ceremony.
The candidates gathered at Saratoga National Historic Park for the special ceremony.
The ceremony is part of the park’s annual Independence Day celebration.
The new citizens come to the U.S. from 13 different countries. They officially took the oath of allegiance Friday and recited the pledge.
The ceremony is part of the tenth annual Citizenship Day, where about 9,000 people will be welcomed as American citizens.
