CATSKILL, N.Y. – A 23-year-old Catskill man faces charges after police say the parolee fled a traffic stop because he did not have a valid driver’s license.
New York State Police at Catskill arrested Jaquan Antone for misdemeanor unlawfully fleeing police with a motor vehicle and resisting arrest. He was also issued tickets for several vehicle and traffic law violations as well as a felony parole violation.
On June 30, 2014 troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for a violation they observed on State Route 32 in the Town of Catskill. The operator of the vehicle attempted to flee police by running into a wooded area off Route 32. Police learned Antone, who is currently on supervised release with the New York State Division of Parole, was the driver. They located him at his residence where he was taken into custody without further incident. Investigation revealed he had fled from the traffic stop because he did not have a valid driver’s license.
Antone was issued an appearance ticket and was remanded to the Greene County Jail on a Parole Violation Warrant. He will return to the Town of Catskill court at a later date.
