USS Slater opens to public for Fourth of July

ALBANY, N.Y. — The USS Slater returned to the Port of Albany after undergoing months of repairs in Staten Island.

The public will be able to see its new paint job and other renovations when it opens to the public on Independence Day.

The only remaining World War II destroyer escort afloat will be available for tours Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
