Father and son arrested for alleged copper pipe assault

EASTON, N.Y. – A father and son have been arrested after allegedly using copper pipes as weapons, injuring two.

According to Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joseph Wood Sr., 46, of Glens Falls, and his son, Tyrone Wood, 17, for various charges stemming from an assault that occurred in the early morning hours of Wednesday.

Police say the two traveled to the home of an acquaintance on Birch Hollow Road in the Town of Easton where they got into a physical altercation. It’s alleged that the father and son duo used copper pipes as weapons, injuring two victims who suffered minor injuries.

Joseph Wood Sr. was located on scene, and arrested for assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Tyrone Wood fled into the woods, but was later arrested for Assault, Menacing, Aggravated Harassment, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

Both were arraigned in the Town of Easton Court, and remanded to the Washington County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
