TROY, N.Y.—Friday, June 6, marks the 70 year anniversary of the Allied D-Day invasion of Normandy.
Seventy years ago, thousands of troops stormed the beaches to begin the liberation of Europe from Nazi Germany.
In New York, flags will be lowered to half-staff in honor of the sacrifices made by those who served throughout World War II.
In Troy, School 14’s entire student body and staff is honoring the American flag with red, white, and blue day.
Students dressed in patriotic colors and gathered outside the front entrance of the school singing patriotic songs along with a band performance.
