Albany police seeking robbery suspects

ALBANY, N.Y. – Albany police are attempting to identify two suspects in reference to a robbery that occurred on Western Avenue.

Police said two suspects entered the Sunoco station located at 1221 Western Ave. around 10 p.m. Tuesday. The suspects were armed with what appeared to be a knife and demanded money from the clerk.

Police said the suspects assaulted the clerk by punching and kicking him several times. Both suspects fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The clerk sustained minor injuries. He was treated at the scene and transported to Albany Medical Center for further evaluation.

One suspect is described as a white male approximately five feet eight inches tall. He was last seen wearing camouflage pants, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a white and black baseball cap.

The second suspect is described as a black female standing approximately five feet six inches tall. She had her face covered and was last seen wearing light colored pants and a light colored sweatshirt.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Albany Police Detective Division at 518-462-8039.
