Queensbury woman accused of welfare fraud

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. – A woman has been accused of welfare fraud.

According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Andrea Fisher, 30, was arrested on Thursday following an investigation into a complaint made by the Warren County Department of Social Services.

Fisher is accused of providing false information pertaining to her household income when she re-certified to continue to receive Temporary Assistants and Medical Assistance Benefits.

Between November 2013 and March 2014, Fisher allegedly received $4,055 in benefits she was not entitled to receive.

She has been charged with welfare fraud in the fourth, health care fraud in the fifth, grand larceny in the fourth, and offering a false instrument for filing in the first. 

Fisher was issued an appearance ticket and will be back in Queensbury Town Court in June.
