Local shop celebrates Record Store Day

TROY, N.Y. – A local store is celebrating Record Store Day.

Record Store Day was created in 2007 after a gathering of independent record store owners and employees.

The River Street Beat Shop in Troy is celebrating the day with a limited amount of special RSD vinyl released, a 25% store-wide sale and a double bill of live music.

For the past several years, Record Store Day has been held on the third Saturday in April. Metallica kicked off the official day in 2008 in San Francisco.
