Annual Martin Luther King Jr. job fair comes to Albany

ALBANY, N.Y.—Two job fairs will come to the Albany and
Syracuse area in the month of April.

The job fairs will offer approximately 2,400 jobs from more
than 225 employers.

“State-sponsored jobs fairs bring together qualified
jobseekers and ready-to-hire businesses in local communities across the state. I
encourage those seeking employment to attend a job fair, meet with businesses
and learn more about available positions in their area,” said Governor Andrew
Cuomo.

Attendees of the fair will have the opportunity to meet with
businesses about potential job opportunities. The State Department of Labor
(DOL) will also be offering employment workshops.

The first Dr. King Career Fair will take place in Albany on
Thursday, April 17, will feature 2,000 jobs available in the region, and will
be held from 12:30 p.m. until 4 p.m at the Empire State Plaza Convention
Center.

The Syracuse career fair will be held on April 22 at Cayuga
College Campus, Spartan Hall from 1 until 4 p.m., offering 400 available jobs.

“Every year, we hear from Dr. King Career Fair participants
about how helpful this event can be. Department of Labor staff members are on hand
to help answer your questions, review your resume and point you to businesses
on site that have available jobs in your field,” said State Labor Commissioner
Peter M. Rivera.
