Two arrested on drug charges during traffic stop

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – State Police say they have arrested two people earlier this month on drug charges.

On April 1, Troopers say they stopped a vehicle on Mohawk Drive, in Amsterdam, for inadequate brake lamps.

Upon investigating, authorities say the Trooper detected an odor a marihuana in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a quantity of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and controlled substances.

The driver, Andrew Senese, 20, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Marihuana.

The passenger, Jacob Reinhart, 21, was arrested for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and the Public Health Law charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance Outside the Original Container.

Both were issued appearance tickets.
