Pittsfield woman found not guilty

PITTSFIELD, Mass.—A Pittsfield woman has been acquitted of
charged that she helped her sister beat up a pregnant woman.

Ashley Clark, 25, was found not guilty Thursday of
Aggravated Assault and Battery and Vandalizing property after a two-day trial
and 45 minutes of jury deliberations.

Prosecutors alleged that Clark and her sister assaulted a
victim in December 2011, specifically focusing blows on her stomach.

Authorities say Clark's sister was angry because the victim
said she was pregnant by the sister's boyfriend.

Clark's lawyer said his client did not assault the victim,
but instead “did the right thing”, and tried to break up the fight.
