Two arraigned for February slaying

ALBANY, N.Y.—Two Albany residents were arraigned in Albany
County Court Thursday for their roles in a February homicide.

Edward Malloy, 35, and Marika Hodge, 37 were both arraigned
for their roles in a homicide that took place outside of Port Tavern in Albany.

Malloy was arraigned on one
Count of Murder in the Second Degree and one Count of Criminal Possession of a
Weapon in the Second Degree.

Hodge was arraigned on one Count
of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, one Count of Criminal
Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, one Count of Hindering Prosecution
in the First Degree, and one Count of Criminal Facilitation in Fourth Degree.

On February 16, 2014, Hodge
possessed a loaded gun and gave it to Malloy. Malloy allegedly took the pistol
and shot the victim, Jamal Forbes, resulting in his death.

Malloy pleaded not guilty to all
charges and was sent to Albany County Correctional Facility without bail. Hodge
also pleaded not guilty to all charges and was sent to Albany County
Correctional Facility with $100,000 cash bail.
