Cohoes robber sentenced to 5 years in State Prison

ALBANY, N.Y.—A Cohoes man was sentenced to five years in
State Prison on Thursday.

Patrick Kearns, 33, pleaded
guilty to one count of Attempted Robbery in the first degree on February 13,
2014.

On November 29, 2013, Kearns
held a knife to a victim outside of Spindle City Market and demanded a bag that
the victim was carrying which contained pipe tobacco and cigarette rolling
papers.

Once Kearns was arrested and
sent to the Albany County Correctional Facility, he made multiple calls in
order to arrange for the victim to be offered money in exchange for not
testifying against him.
