SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y.—A Moreau man was found guilty after a
trial that took place March 31.

Christopher Vanguilder, 47, was found guilty on six charges.

Vanguilder
was charged with two counts of Criminal Sale of a Narcotic Drug, two counts of Possession
with Intent to sell, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled
Substance.

After investigation, the Sheriff's Department found that
Vanguilder was cooperating with drug dealers from New York City, and allowing
them to open up shop in his home for local distribution.

“This verdict
brings to light this practice of the “downstate-upstate” supply link,
and how important it is to identify those local “smaller” dealers who
are allowing the bigger ones to essentially open up a store,” said
District Attorney James Murphy.

Vanguilder's
sentencing is scheduled for May 30 at 1:30 p.m., where he faces up to 12 years
in prison.
