QUEENSBURY, NY – Megan J. Bates, 22, of Aviation Road, Queensbury, was
arrested today for Burglary 3rd degree, Petit Larceny and Unlawful
Possession of Marihuana.

Trooper James West was assigned a complaint earlier in
the morning of an unknown subject rummaging through unlocked cars on Robin Lane
in Queensbury and stealing a bicycle from the shed at one of the residences.
While following up on neighborhood interviews, he observed an orange BMX
bicycle, which matched the description of the stolen bicycle. It was behind a
shed adjacent to a mobile home at the Mountain View trailer park.

Further
investigation led SP Queensbury BCI to arrest Bates for the burglary and car
larceny after she admitted to walking around the neighborhood, near dawn, “car
shopping.”

She was also charged with Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, at the
time of her arrest.

She was arraigned on the charges at Queensbury Town Court
and is scheduled to reappear on Monday March 31, at 10:30 a.m.
