SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y.—A Schuylerville man
pleaded guilty to vehicular assault on Thursday.
Morgan Petralia, 24, pleaded guilty to
Vehicular Assault in the first degree.
The conviction arose after a one car
rollover crash involving serious injury that occurred on November 17, 2013.
State Police determined Petralia was
operating while intoxicated at the time. After voluntarily providing a breath
sample, his BAC registered as .19 percent.
“Despite our best efforts to prevent these crimes from occurring
and educate the public about the dangers of drunk driving, we continue to see
people driving with high BAC's and causing death and serious injury,” said
District Attorney James Murphy.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 22. Petralia is expected to be
sentenced to state prison for up to three years.
