Benefit dinner scheduled for family that lost 114-year-old home

SUMMIT, N.Y. – A benefit pasta dinner will be held on March
30 for a family after they lost their belongings in a fire earlier this year.

Summit Fire Chief Don Clarke says his fire department will
hold the dinner on Sunday, March 30, at the Summit Conservation Club. It will
take place from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Three blue grass bands will perform during the event.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children.

On February 28, a family of four was inside their
114-year-old home on Charlotte Valley Road when a fire broke out. The fire
alarm woke up the mother and her two children which led everyone to safety.

Firefighters had a difficult time battling the blaze in below zero
temperatures because water sources were frozen along with hoses and fire trucks.
The home was completely destroyed.
