Saratoga Springs Police make criminal mischief arrest

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – A Saratoga Springs man was arrested
for criminal mischief.

Eric McCleary was arrested March 9 and charged with Criminal
Mischief in the Third Degree after an investigation showed McCleary
intentionally smashed out the front glass door to Sam's Tires on Congress
Street shortly before he was arrested.

A recent series of commercial burglaries had taken place in
and around the County of Saratoga Springs. A joint investigation between the
Saratoga Springs Police Department, the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office and
the New York State Police.

A Saratoga Springs officer on midnight patrol developed information
in regards to the series of crimes. The information was consistent with leads
developed by the other agencies.

The investigation lead to McCleary's arrest.

McCleary was also charged with Burglary in the Third Degree
by the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office based on one of their cases.

McCleary was arraigned and remanded to the Saratoga County
Jail without bail.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are
possible.
