Gloversville woman arrested for robbery

GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. — A Gloversville woman was arrested on Thursday after allegedly robbing a Cumberland Farms.

Police say Velvet Reed, 29, stole an undetermined amount of cash as well as displayed a handgun during the robbery.

After fleeing the scene, Reed was found hiding on a porch in the area of Third Avenue and Yale Street. A
search of the area resulted in the discovery of the reported handgun, which was
found to be a black BB gun, as well as assorted cash on First Avenue.

Reed was charged with Robbery and Criminal Use of a Firearm, both felonies, along with Menacing and Petit Larceny, both misdemeanors.
